ITER relevant multi-emissive sheaths at normal magnetic field inclination

چکیده
Abstract Reliable modeling of macroscopic melt motion induced by fast transients requires the accurate and computationally efficient description emitted current density that escapes to pre-sheath. The ITER sheaths surround hot tungsten surfaces during edge-localized modes are characterized important contributions from secondary electron emission backscattering as well coupling between thermionic field emission. Under guidance systematic particle-in-cell simulations incorporate a comprehensive analytical model, highly semi-empirical treatment escaping has been achieved.

Sheaths with Dust Particles in the Oblique Magnetic Field
It is simulated the non-linear one-dimensional sheaths with dust particles of the given size, density and profile in an oblique magnetic field, using the modified PIC method with self-consistent dust particle charge. The Coulomb scattering and the collection of electrons and ions by dust particles are simulated by the Monte-Carlo method with 3D velocity distribution functions for electrons and ...
متن کاملMagnetic field inclination and atmospheric oscillations above solar active regions
Recent observational evidence for magnetic field direction effects on helioseismic signals in sunspot penumbrae is suggestive of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mode conversion occurring at lower levels. This possibility is explored using wave mechanical and ray theory in a model of the Sun’s surface layers permeated by uniform inclined magnetic field. It is found that fastto-slow conversion near the...
متن کاملMigratory blackcaps can use their magnetic compass at 5 degrees inclination, but are completely random at 0 degrees inclination
It is known that night-migratory songbirds use a magnetic compass measuring the magnetic inclination angle, i.e. the angle between the Earth's surface and the magnetic field lines, but how do such birds orient at the magnetic equator? A previous study reported that birds are completely randomly oriented in a horizontal north-south magnetic field with 0° inclination angle. This seems counter-int...
متن کاملDevelopment and operation of an ITER relevant inspection Robot
Robotic operations are one of the major maintenance challenges for ITER and future fusion reactors. In particular, in vessel inspection operations without loss of conditioning will be mandatory. In this context, an Articulated Inspection Arm (AIA) has been developed by CEA within the European work programme framework, which aims at demonstrating the capabilities of a multi-purpose in-vessel Rem...
متن کاملEmissive Probes Emissive Probes
For over 80 years emissive probes have been used to measure plasma potential and a wide variety of methods for interpreting probe data now exists. Constructions, heating methods and measurement techniques are reviewed in detail and their various strengths and limitations are compared. Additionally, several novel uses for emissive probes, such as measuring electron temperature are presented. Thi...
